Melbourne Airport has achieved 6 per cent international passenger growth in October compared to October last year, to reach 634,080 passengers.
Melbourne Airport CEO, Mr Chris Woodruff, said that passenger records were broken in October.
"We had the highest number of total passengers in a month through Melbourne Airport in October. It was also a record month for domestic passengers. This supports our decision to invest more than $1 billion over the next two years in expanding and upgrading our facilities to accommodate the growing number of visitors to Victoria."
"As Victoria's aviation gateway, Melbourne Airport is also supporting the growth of Victoria with more than 3,000 construction related jobs created through our self-funded investment program," said Mr Woodruff.
Melbourne Airport's $1 billion two year program of investment includes a new domestic terminal, ground transport hub, additional aircraft parking bays and significant road upgrades and is part of a larger multimillion 20 year investment program.
