American Airlines adviser and former US Transportation Secretary, Norman Mineta, stated Japan Airlines should retain its relationships with American Airlines and oneworld, as an alliance with Delta Air Lines would “not automatically lead to antitrust immunity”, according to Kyodo reports.

Among the LCCs, Southwest Airlines shares edged up 0.1%, Allegiant and AirTran were also higher (by 0.5% and 2.9%, respectively), while shares in JetBlue fell 1.9%.
