TAV Holdings' passenger traffic up strongly; Istanbul Ataturk Airport performing well

Turkey’s TAV Holdings yesterday announced a 7% increase in passenger traffic in Mar-2011 and its shares rose 0.8%.

Highlights include:

  • Passenger numbers: 3.7 million, +7%;
    • Istanbul Ataturk: 2.7 million, +7%;
      • Domestic: 986,077, +4%;
      • International: 1.7 million, +8%;
    • Esenboga: 683,047, +18%;
      • Domestic: 572,901, +17%;
      • International: 110,146, +18%;
    • Izmir: 121,123, +37%;
    • Monastir: 75,824, -48%;
    • Tbilisi: 64,414, +31%;
    • Batumi: 4,994, +34%
    • Macedonia (Skopje & Ohrid): 46,424, +2%;

Meanwhile, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport reported strong passenger traffic in 1Q2011

  • Passenger numbers: 2.8 million, +29%;
    • Domestic: 2.0 million, +25%;
    • International: 885,903, +39%.
