Taiwan's China Airlines, EVA Air to hike US fares on rise in fuel costs - report

Taipei (XFN-ASIA) - China Airlines (2610.TW) will raise its

fares to the US by 5 pct for economy class beginning June 1, and by July 1,

both China Airlines and EVA Airways Corp (2618.TW) will hike their fares to

the US for first class and business class passengers by 10-15 pct, the Economic

Daily News reported, without naming its sources.

This is the first time in six years that Taiwan carriers will be hiking their fares for international flights, which is being prompted by high fuel prices and increased costs, the report said.
