SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Skymark Airlines announced plans to suspend services from Tokyo Haneda to Kansai, Kagoshima and Tokushima from Apr-06 and suspend plans to launch services to the New Kitakyushu Airport.
The carrier also plans to review its fares, reduce on board services and launch new services to raise competitiveness. Skymark plans to launch new Haneda-Sapporo/Kobe/Okinawa services in 2006, however, further details were not disclosed.
Skymark Airlines: "We decided to withdraw from the three routes in order to secure maximum profits at this point. We hope to resume flights on those routes when we become stronger as a company," Shinichi Nishikubo, President.
Meanwhile, Valuair confirmed (12-Oct-05) plans to suspend the following services to China, due to weak demand:
