Japan Airlines reports domestic passenger numbers fell 2.7% year-on-year in Jun-2010 to 2.76 million. It follows three successive months of gains. Rival ANA, meanwhile, handled 3.05 million domestic passengers in the month, up 5.8%.
JAL’s load factors rose 3.5 ppts to 57.9% as it continued to pare back capacity, while ANA’s surged 6.6 ppts to 61.7%.
Internationally, JAL handled just under 800,000 passengers, up 5.8% year-on-year.
ANA’s shares fell 2.5% yesterday as Japanese stocks went down for the third successive session on the back of weak Chinese import figures. JAL was delisted in Feb-2010.
