SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - CAAC approved four Taiwanese airlines (China Airlines (CAL), EVA Air, Mandarin Airlines and Uni Airways) to utilise Mainland airspace, effective 05-Sep-05, removing a 56-year ban. CAL plans to operate 52 services per week to Europe and Asia via Mainland airspace, and anticipates significant fuel cost savings.
Meanwhile, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines confirmed plans to commence Hong Kong-London service in Mar-06, subject to Air Transport Licensing Authority approval. Services to Cologne/Bonn are planned to commence in May-06.
