Shares in China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport gained 0.8% in trading yesterday. The airport released its traffic results for Oct-2009 today (19-Nov-2009), showing continued double-digit growth in all areas.
Passenger traffic was up by 13.9% year-on-year, while cargo soared almost 60%
Also in the Asia Pacific region, Airports of Thailand’s shares stabilised yesterday, following the release of its Oct-2009 traffic highlights. Total passenger numbers at the country’s main gateways grew by 13.9% year-on-year, driven by passenger traffic at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (+19.4%). Total cargo volume and aircraft movements rose 1.4% and 5.5%, respectively.
Traffic at major airports in the Asia Pacific region continue to enjoy growth in recent months, including Singapore’s Changi Airport, which saw a 6% increase in passenger numbers and a 6.7% increase in aircraft movements in Oct-2009.
In Europe, shares in Zurich Airport gained 2.6% while competitor, Vienna Airport’s shares closed 0.3% higher. Meanwhile, neighbouring Geneva Airport reported a 5.4% increase in passenger numbers in Oct-2009, while cargo volume soared 23.2%.
