Simrik International Cargo Airlines is a proposed cargo carrier to be based at Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport. In early Jul-2016, Simrik Airlines and Sapphire Global Airways signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the dedicated international long-haul cargo carrier. The new cargo airline is expected to serve the Southeast Asian market during initial phase, utilising two Boeing 777 aircraft. Sapphire Global Airways is expected to have majority stake (70%), whilst Simrik Airlines will have a minority stake (30%).
