ICAO: n/a

Salam Air is an Omani low-cost carrier established by JSC Muscat National Development & Investment Company (ASAAS). Oman's Public Authority for Civil Aviation granted ASAAS a new air services operator license in Jan-2016 to establish the country's first LCC. Salam Air took delivery of an A320 aircraft on 19-Nov-2016, the first of three aircraft under a lease agreement. The carrier commenced service operations on 30-Jan-2017, with a Salalah-Muscat service. Salam Air hopes to support Oman's air traffic demand, which is expected to increase by 40% by 2019. ASAAS CEO Khalid al-Yahmadi said Oman Air supports the establishment of Salam Air, and advised the new LCC will facilitate Oman Air's fleet expansion.
