US Department of Transportation appoints New York “Aviation Czar”

US Department of Transportation (DoT) appointed Marie Kennington-Gardiner as Director of the New York Integration Office, a position created in 2007 by the DoT, as part of efforts to tackle the chronic problems of congestion and delays in the New York region. Ms Kennington-Gardiner will coordinate regional airspace issues and all projects and initiatives addressing problems of congestion and delays in New York. She most recently served as Director of the Lower Manhattan Recovery Office to coordinate Federal emergency transit investments following the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
