Upgrades at Dublin Airport to be indefinately postponed
Analysis
SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) announced it has indefinitely postponed plans for a EUR1 billion upgrade of Dublin Airport (DUB), following the Commission for Aviation Regulation's decision to reject DAA's proposed 50% increase in passenger charges to fund the project.
The commission instead approved passenger charges to increase by 23%, to EUR6.14, effective Jan-06. The proposed project is part of a ten-year expansion plan to handle the forecasted 30 million annual passengers by 2015 at DUB.
