Travelport and Jazeera sign; Group Aeroplan increases points needed for flights.

Analysis

Jazeera Airways and Travelport have signed a full content distribution agreement, providing Galileo-connected travel agents in Kuwait with access to fares not available through any other GDS channel.

The agreement builds on an the existing participation agreement between the Kuwait-based airline and the GDS provider. The additional content from Jazeera Airways will be made available exclusively to Travelport GDS users in Kuwait, with preferred access to the carrier's best online inventory, including last-minute web fares.

In GDS stock on Friday, Amadeus and Menzies both posted minor gains.

Groupe Aeroplan, which manages the frequent-flyer programme of Air Canada, has revised its mileage levels required for travel with Air Canada and Star Alliance, effective 15-Jul-2011. The adjustments represent an average increase of less than 5% in the number of miles per reward for all ClassicFlight (Air Canada) and Star Alliance flight rewards. Groupe Aeroplan shares were 0.5% lower on Friday.
