Spain's AENA to be privatised - reports

Premium Analysis

A potential bombshell arose out of the blue on 24-Jun-08 when Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, almost casually announced plans to privatise partially the Spanish airport operator, Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA). Little has so far been revealed about the detail and both AENA and government press offices could offer little beyond vague media reports. The feeling is that AENA itself was taken off-guard by the announcement.
