Royal Jordanian renews contract with AFI-KLM E&M; Air Mauritius appoints new CEO

Analysis

Royal Jordanian (-4%) renewed (29-Sep-2010) its contract with AFI KLM E&M for A340 component and engine support for a further three years. The contract includes repairs and pool access as part of a flight-hour contract for components and overhaul of/access to leased engine replacements.

Royal Jordanian has also selected AFI KLM E&M to provide component support for its A330s. The contract includes repairs and access to the spares pool, with the deployment of a Main Base Kit (MBK) at Amman Airport.

Middle East shares were a mixed bag with Jazeera (-1%) shares down while Air Arabia (+0.6%) and Kuwait National Airways (+1.2%) gained slightly.

Air Mauritius (+0.7%) announced, on Wednesday (29-Sep-2010), the appointment of Soobhiraj Bungsraz as CEO, effective 01-Oct-2010. Mr Bungsraz succeeds Manoj RK Ujoodha, who resigned from the carrier.

African shares were also a mixed bag with 1time (-0.9%) and Comair (-0.4%) down while Kenya Airways (+0.6%) shares rose and Lonrho remained steady.
