Prague Airport pax fall by 2.4%; Frankfurt’s pretax profits to rise by an average of 10%

Prague Airport announced its passengers traffic fell by 2.4% in Aug-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.3 million, -2.3%;
  • Aircraft movements: 15,043, -5.4%;
  • Air cargo: 4,863 tonnes, +26%.

The airport added that 60% its traffic comes from the full-service sector, 22% from low-cost and 18% from charter.

Germany's Fraport AG (+1.3%) CEO Dr Stefan Schulte stated Frankfurt Airport's pretax profits will rise by an average of 10% p/a through to 2015 as it opens a new runway and benefits from Lufthansa's expansion.

UK's unlisted BAA plans to sell its 65% stake in Gesac SpA, which controls Naples International Airport, to F2i SGR SpA for EUR150 million.

Other European airport operators whose shares gained included Aeroporto di Venezia (+2.3%), Zurich (+1.4%) and Copenhagen (+0.7%). Meanwhile, TAV (-0.6%) and Gemina (-4.2%) shares dropped.
