Oil price bounces, but so do airline shares

Premium Analysis

Airlines would be concerned to see further increases in oil prices overnight (up USD2.40 at USD74.25 per barrel in New York) on expectations OPEC may decide to cut output this week. Many observers think OPEC would be comfortable with oil prices at USD80-90 per barrel, which, if realised, would cause significant discomfort to airlines experiencing weak demand this Winter.
