Japan opens up access to 23 regional airports
Japan's Transport Ministry has announced the government has approved a proposal to ease restrictions on operations from 23 regional airports capable of handling international services, in a bid to boost trade and tourism. In a positive sign after the recent Cabinet reshuffle under new Prime Minister Fukuda, Japan is forging ahead liberalisation to spread the benefits of with air services development beyond the traditional hubs of Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
