Indian ATM reforms under way - GAGAN project achieves crucial support

Indian Government formally approved the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) proposals for the implementation of the GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) project. The overall project is expected to require USD175 million in investment, while the government has also retrospectively approved the USD33 million invested in the initial trial phase of the programme, provided by the AAI. The AAI has committed to a USD130 million investment in the programme, while the ISRO will provide USD45 million.
