HNA Group expects 1H08 profit to surge 50%

Hainan Airlines expects its 1H08 profit to increase 50% year-on-year, due to the appreciation of the Yuan.

The carrier was also less exposed to soaring international fuel prices, as it mainly operates domestic routes for which more favourable fuel prices apply. Net income in 1H07 was USD27.6 million.
