Gojet Airlines takes Bombardier CRJ700 deliveries from GECAS

Analysis

TORONTO (Bombardier) - GoJet Airlines, a new carrier based in St. Louis, Missouri, has taken delivery of three of six Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets under a lease agreement with General Electric Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS).

"The excellent track record of the Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft along with our new partnership with GoJet Airlines offers us the opportunity to expand our business with two quality organizations," said Todd M. Freeman, Senior Vice-President and Manager, Regional Jet Programs, GE Commercial Aviation Services.

GoJet began operating the CRJ700 aircraft under the United Express banner for United Air Lines in September 2005. The airline has already taken delivery of three of the four CRJ700 jets to be delivered by Bombardier, and will take delivery of the remaining three of six GECAS aircraft, now through the first quarter of 2006.

"The CRJ700 airliner is clearly the industry leader in the 70-seat class of regional jet aircraft because of its low operating costs and passenger comfort," commented Richard Leach, President & Chief Operating Officer, Trans States Holdings. "We are also grateful to GECAS for their assistance, and for their confidence in our GoJet product. Trans States Holdings has a long-standing relationship with GECAS and we're pleased that we're able to work together with Bombardier and GoJet as well."

On March 14, 2005 Bombardier announced that GoJet had placed a firm order for 10 CRJ700 aircraft. Subsequent to the order announcement, the interest in six of the aircraft was transferred to GECAS. These aircraft now comprise the last six aircraft remaining from GECAS' original order for CRJ700 aircraft. Consequently, the GoJet CRJ700 firm order backlog will be adjusted to reflect this change, with the total CRJ700 firm order backlog standing at 69 aircraft as of October 31, 2005.
