Fraport traffic decline eases, Gemina up while Japan Airport Terminal profit slides
Fraport's shares rose 2.1% yesterday after reporting a narrowing traffic decline in Oct-2009, which saw passenger numbers ease 0.1% to 7.5 million, while cargo traffic increased 1.5% to 207,223 tonnes.

- Passenger numbers: 7.5 million, -0.1% year-on-year;
- Frankfurt: 4.6 million, -1.9%;
- Cargo volume: 207,223 tonnes, +1.5%;
- Frankfurt: 181,687 tonnes, -0.1%:
- Aircraft movements: 65,088, -1.0%;
- Frankfurt: 40,674, -4.4%.
According to Fraport Executive Board Chairman, Dr Sefan Schulte, the Oct-2009 figures indicated that the decline in traffic is "increasingly lessening".
Aeroporti di Roma's nine month EBITDA eases 0.7%
Shares in Italy's Gemina gained 1.0%, following the release of Aeroporti di Roma's financial results for the nine months ended 30-Sep-2009, which showed EBITDA easing just 0.7% to EUR191.8 million, despite a 3.3% reduction in revenues.
Copenhagen Airport reports "best month so far this year"
Also in Europe, Copenhagen Airport's shares eased 0.3% after reporting its "best month so far this year". The airport reported a 2.7% reduction in passenger numbers, to 1.8 million, although aircraft movements fell 8.4%:
Meanwhile, Switzerland's travel retailer, Dufry's shares surged 6.7% after reporting a 19.5% jump in nine month ended 30-Sep-2009 revenue of EUR1.2 billion and an EBITDA increase of 8.9% to EUR145.8 million.
In the Asia Pacific, shares in Japan Airport Terminal slid 2.3% in trading yesterday, after reporting a 45% reduction in 1HFY2010 net profit and cutting its full year net profit forecast by 44.8%.
Xiamen Airport traffic growth still in double-digits
Meanwhile, Hainan Meilan International Airport's shares surged 15.3%. Xiamen Airport's shares gained 0.7% while Shanghai Airport's shares eased 0.3%. CAAC East China Regional Administration reported Oct-2009 traffic results for its member airports, which showed strong growth at all airports. Shanghai Pudong passenger traffic increased 16.1% year-on-year, while Shanghai Hongqiao rose 4.8%. The smaller Xiamen airport reported a 26.3% increase, to 1.1 million.
