Fraport and BAA parent lower after June traffic report, MAp and Copenhagen Airport bounce back


BAA reports traffic at its airports continued to decline in Jun-2009, falling 5.9% year-on-year, but the latest figures represent the best underlying Group result since Sep-2008. Shares in BAA parent, Ferrovial, fell 2.9% on Friday (10-Jul-2009).

London Heathrow remained the stronger of all the airports, reporting a 3.1% reduction in passenger traffic while London Gatwick and Stansted fell 7.6% and 11.5%, respectively.

Fraport reported a moderation of passenger traffic declines in Jun-2009, down 5.4%. Fraport's shares dropped 3.2% on Friday, surpassing the Frankfurt Dax 30 index's decline of 1.2%.

Copenhagen Airport’s shares gained 1.1% after the release of its Jun-2009 traffic results, which showed improved passenger traffic decline of 8.7%, led by an improvement in domestic traffic, which fell just 2.1% last month.

Elsewhere, Shanghai Airport’s shares lost ground on Friday, easing 0.7% while Japan Airport Terminal, Macquarie Airports and Australian Infrastructure Fund gained 1.8%, 2.8% and 5.5%, respectively.
