Centralwings halts LCC operations

LOT Polish Airlines has decided to terminate the scheduled operations of its LCC subsidiary, Centralwings, by the middle of Sep-08. The carrier joins an increasingly lengthy list of failed or abandoned LCC subsidiaries launched by major European carriers over the past decade, including Buzz (KLM), go! (British Airways), Basiq Air (Air France) and Virgin Express (Virgin Atlantic).
