Analysis

BAA's UK airports handled 8.6 million passengers in May-2010, a drop of 4.5% year-on-year, including 5.3 million at Heathrow, down 3.1%, attributable to the volcanic ash cloud and industrial action. Without these impacts, BAA estimates that Heathrow would have recorded an increase of 2.8% and the group as whole an increase of 0.4%.
