BAA traffic up year-on-year, cargo steady

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - British Airports Authority reports the following traffic highlights in Sep-05:

  • Passenger numbers: 13.5 million, +3.0% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 150,971 tonnes, steady;
  • Aircraft movements: 110,779, +3.6%.

12 months ended 30-Sep-05:

  • Passenger numbers: 143.8 million, +3.6%;
  • Cargo volume: 1.8 million tonnes, +1.7%;
  • Aircraft movements: 1.2 million, +3.2%.

Across the markets, traffic on other long haul routes rose 8.6% year-on-year, while North Atlantic and domestic traffic increased 3.1% and 2.3% respectively.
