Airports of Thailand’s six airports each report +20% improvement in passenger traffic in Feb-2010
Shares in Airports of Thailand (AoT) gained 2.0% yesterday, with the release of the airport operator's traffic report for Feb-2010. Passenger numbers rose 25.6% year-on-year, with all six AoT airports reporting an increase in passenger numbers better than 20%. Cargo volumes also improved significantly, up 44.6% year-on-year in the month, after the declines of 2009.
Aircraft movements were also up strongly, +16.3% to just under 32,000.
Also in the Asia Pacific, shares in Shanghai Airport rose 3.5%, while Chinese airport shares, including Beijing and Hainan Meilan, were also strong gainers.
Aeroports de Paris flat as Paris-Orly fails to pick up in Feb-2010
Meanwhile in Europe, France's Aeroports de Paris' shares were flat, as the company reported its own traffic numbers for Feb-2010. Overall passenger numbers dipped 1.0% year-on-year in Feb-2009, led by a 3.3% year-on-year reduction at Paris-Orly Airport to 1.7 million. Aircraft movements dipped 8.7%.
