Dubai (Thomson Financial) - Airbus has lifted its expectations
for orders of its A350 XWB jet this year to more than 300, Airbus' head salesman
John Leahy said at the Dubai air show.
Leahy had previously forecast Airbus would get 200 orders for the A350 by the end of this year.
Earlier today, Dubai state-owned carrier Emirates ordered 70 A350s, with an option for 50 more.
The A350 XWB can carry between 270 and 350 passengers. It competes with Boeing's Dreamliner B787, which is scheduled to enter into service at the end of 2008.
