AdP drops back, Guangzhou Airport up, while OMA and Korea Airport Service Co surge
Airport shares worldwide were generally up on Monday as global stock markets gained on rising manufacturing prospects. Mexican airport operator, Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA) and Korea Airport Service Co led the increase in airport shares, surging 6.4% and 8.5%, respectively. Airports going against the trend included Macquarie Airports, ending its recent strong rally, closing down 2.4% yesterday.
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's shares gained 3.0% following the release of its first half financial results, which showed a 2.5% improvement in revenues and a 1.5% increase in net profit on the back of steady traffic.
In Europe, Aeroports de Paris' shares fell 1.6%, while BAA parent, Ferrovial, eased 0.9%, an improvement from its 7.0% slump on Friday following the group's announced takeover plan of its Cintra subsidiary.
