About

Syrian Pearl Airways was incorporated by a presidential decree in 2008, operating as a second national carrier with a start-up capital of USD5.3 million. The carrier entered ACMI services with Orion Air in May-2009, but was subject to an on-going investigation by the US Department of Commerce. The carrier suspended operations as Orion Air abandoned the agreement, due to sanctions imposed by the US government.
