World Travel and Tourism Council notes intrinsic link between aviation and tourism

World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) president and CEO David Scowsill, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, noted (07-Aug-2013) the intrinsic link between aviation and tourism, both for leisure and business travel. He noted the "airline business will continue to grow" as "travel is a way of life", which "drives economy and creates jobs". He noted "even in the toughest economic times, this industry continues to be a priority for consumers, to create jobs and drive economies". He also noted the social benefits of travel and tourism, alongside the economic benefits, and said increased travel has a link to a reduction in conflict.
