Virgin America expects PRASM, CASM to increase for 4Q2014

Virgin America stated (22-Jan-2015) it expects passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) will increase from 0.5% to 1.0% year-over-year in 4Q2014, while cost per available seat mile (CASM) is expected to increase from 1.0% to +1.5% year-over-year. The carrier expects to record certain special items of USD19 million in its 4Q2014 financial results related to its initial public offering. Virgin America expects a realised total jet fuel economic cost per gallon to be approximately USD2.87 per gallon for 4Q2014. The carrier currently expects its capacity, as measured by available seat miles, to increase by 3.0% to 4.0% for 1Q2015, and approximately 2.0% to 3.0% for FY2015. [more - original PR]
