US BTS reports 5.6% rise in systemwide pax traffic in Oct-2010
US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reports (13-Jan-2011) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic results for US airlines in Oct-2010:
- Passenger numbers: 62.1 million, +5.6% year-on-year;
- Passenger traffic (RPMs): +7.7%;
- Capacity (ASMs): +6.5%;
- Load factor: 83.1%, +1.0 ppts;
According to BTS, Delta remained the largest US airline, by total scheduled system enplanements in Oct-2010. The top 10 airlines are as follows:
- Delta: 9.7 million, +68.5% year-on-year;
- Southwest: 9.4 million, +6.6%;
- American: 7.3 million, +2.4%;
- United: 4.7 million, stable;
- US Airways: 4.5 million, +7%;
- Continental: 3.6 million, +2.2%:
- Skywest: 2.1 million, +9.8%;
- AirTran: 2.1 million, +3.8%;
- JetBlue: 2.0 million, +16.4%;
