US BTS reports 1.8% rise in systemwide pax traffic in Aug-2010
US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reports (12-Nov-2010) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic results for US airlines in Aug-2010:
- Passenger numbers: 66.2 million, +1.8% year-on-year;
- Passenger traffic (RPMs): +2.9%;
- Capacity (ASMs): +2.4%;
- Load factor: 85.3%, +0.4 ppt.
According to BTS, Delta remained the largest US airline, by total scheduled system enplanements in Aug-2010. The top 10 airlines are as follows:
- Delta: 10.4 million, +65.1%;
- Southwest: 9.5 million, +6.9%;
- American: 7.7 million, -0.1%;
- United: 5.1 million, -5.1%;
- US Airways: 4.6 million, +2.1%;
- Continental: 4.0 million, -5%;
- JetBlue: 2.3 million, +6.8%;
- AirTran: 2.3 million, -1.3%;
- SkyWest: 2.2 million, +12.8%;
