US airports concerned at EU lifting of liquids ban

EU's plan to partially lift a ban on passengers carrying liquids has US airport officials worried it will confuse passengers travelling to the US (AP, 27-Feb-2011). From 29-Apr-2011, the EU plans to allow passengers carrying wine, perfume and other liquids purchased at duty free airport shops outside Europe to carry those items onto connecting services at 24 European airports. The TSA has not stated whether passengers arriving in the US from Europe with liquids purchased outside the EU will be allowed to board domestic services with those items.
