US airlines pax up 1%, load factor also up in Jan-2012
US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported (24-Apr-2012) the following traffic highlights for US airlines in Jan-2012:
- Passenger numbers: 54.3 million, +1.1% year-on-year;
- Domestic: 46.9 million, +1.3%;
- International: 7.4 million, +1.7%;
- Load factor: 77.6%, +1.1 ppt;
- Domestic: 78.1%, +1.5 ppt;
- International: 76.7%, +0.2 ppt;
- Flights: 744,000, -1.0%;
- Domestic: 674,300, -0.6%;
- International: 69,700, +1.1%;
- Flight stage length: 750,400 miles, +0.7%;
- Domestic: 640,600, +1.4%;
- International: 1812, +2.7%;
- Passenger trip length: 1125 miles, -0.5%;
