United Continental Holdings reports 15% rise in 4Q2010 operating revenue

United Continental Holdings reports (26-Jan-2011) the following consolidated financial highlights*:

  • 3 months ended Dec-2010:
    • Operating revenue: USD8,433 million, +15% year-on-year;
    • Operating costs: USD8,515 million, +15%;
    • Fuel: +26.6%;
    • Labour: +4.5%;
    • Operating income/loss: (USD 82 million), compared with an operating loss of USD72 million in p-c-p;
    • Net income/loss: (USD325 million), compared with an operating loss of USD266 million in p-c-p;
    • Mainline operations:
      • Passenger numbers: 24.4 million, +0.9%;
      • CASM excluding special items: USD12.10 cents, +6.3%;
      • Aircraft in fleet at end of period: 710, +1.9%.
  • 12 months ended Dec-2010:
    • Operating revenue: USD34,013 million, +18.9%;
    • Operating costs: USD32,195 million, +12.5%;
    • Fuel: +32.7%;
    • Labour: +7.8%;
    • Operating income/loss: USD1,818 million, compared with a loss of USD17 million in p-c-p;
    • Net income/loss: USD854 million, compared with a loss of USD718 million in p-c-p;
    • Mainline operations:
      • Passenger numbers: 99.5 million, -2.3%;
      • CASM excluding special items: USD11.65 cents, +8.6%;
      • Aircraft in fleet at end of period: 710, +1.9%. [more]
