United and Continental establish integration management office
Continental Airlines and United Airlines announced (19-May-2010) they have established an Integration Steering Committee (ISC), headed by CEOs, Glenn Tilton and Jefferey Smisek, and an Integration Management Office (IMO), lead by United EVP and Chief Administrative Officer, Pete McDonald, and Continental Staff VP and Assistant General Counsel, Lori Gobillot. The IMO will oversee the day-to-day integration planning and recommendations will focus on identifying key strategic opportunities, including fleet planning, capital structure, product/service strategy and processes to create a stronger airline. The IMO will focus on five significant bodies of work: commercial; operations; corporate functions; IT and systems integration; and single operating certificate planning. The IMO will make all integration planning recommendations to the ISC for review. The carriers expect planning work to commence in earnest early Jun-2010. [more]
