Tourism industry is 'here to stay', 'creating demand for airline seats and new routes': WWTC

World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) president and CEO David Scowsill, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (07-Aug-2013) tourism stands out as a "industry which is here to stay and continues to grow, creating demand for airline seats and new routes". He noted tourism stands out as an exception in a time of economic uncertainty, with its future assured by considerable middle class growth. He noted that there will be three billion people worldwide in the middle class by 2050.
