Tourism Australia states Qantas issues will not affect travel

Tourism Australia Managing Director Andrew McEvoy stated he does not believe Qantas' recent engine incidents will have a negative affect on Australian tourism (AAP, 06-Nov-2010). He added inbound tourist arrivals are up 6% so far this year. Chinese arrivals up 20%, Japanese up 19% and Korean up 17%.

Tourism Australia: "I definitely don't think it will impact on tourism numbers in Australia. They've had some trouble of late, but they're a great airline. But there are also so many different ways to get into the country," Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director. Source: AAP, 06-Nov-2010.
