Thai to hold special Board meeting on Thai Tiger

Thai Airways' Board reportedly deferred consideration of the creation of Thai Tiger Airways, a 51:49 JV with Tiger Airways (Bangkok Post, 13-Nov-2010). Thai Airways Chairman Ampon Kittiampon stated there was not enough time for board members to go through details including points of concern and legitimacy issues raised by the Transport Ministry. Continuing to oppose the launch of Thai Tiger, the Ministry has been raising issues, particularly on legal aspects, which are impeding the planned take-off the new airline in Mar-2011. A special meeting will be held on 19-Nov-2010 to deliberate the Thai Tiger plan.
