Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport pax up 6% in Jun-2012
Australia's Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport passenger numbers up 6% - traffic highlights for Jun-2012:
- Passenger numbers: 2,858,000, +6.2%;
- Domestic: 1,884,000, +4.0%;

The airport reported major nationality markets that grew included Australia outbound (+11%), Malaysia (+69%), Singapore (+62%), Japan (+27%), India (+20%), Indonesia (+12%), New Zealand (+12%), China (+9%), Canada (+3%) and the US (+1%). France (-4%) was the major nationality market to report a decline.
Sydney Airport: "The launch of new low cost services to Asia was the driver of the exceptional International growth of 10.4% during the month. Scoot's daily service to Singapore has been very popular with the travelling public, with the number of Singaporeans arriving in Sydney increasing by 62% and the number of Australians travelling to Singapore increasing by 29% in June. Very strong growth in the Malaysian market was also recorded, with a 69% increase in Malaysians visiting Sydney and a 31% increase in Australians travelling to Malaysia," Kerri Mather, CEO.
