Sydney International terminal upgrade and expansion completed

Australia's Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Anthony Albanese, announced plans to celebrate the completion of the expansion and upgrade of Sydney International Airport's departures level on 11-Jun-2010. The expansion and upgrade of the terminal commenced in 2007 and has involved expanding the departures level by 7,300sqm, opening a new outbound Customs hall building and a new security screening area for essential aviation security measures, providing more waiting areas, increasing the number of F&B and retail outlets, commissioning a new arrivals baggage reclaim carousel for A380 capacity and refurbishing 30,000sqm of the existing departures level.
