Sydney Airport has sufficient capacity for next 20 years: chairman

Australia's Sydney Airport chairman Max Moore-Wilton, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (09-Aug-2013) the airport has capacity to meet demand for the next 20 years. Mr Moore-Wilton nominated Badgerys Creek as "probably the most sensible site" for a second airport but said questions remain about what sort of airport should be built and the time frame for its construction. Mr Moore-Wilton said there is currently no latent demand for a second airport in Sydney and it is difficult to predict the conditions another airport should be built to accommodate due to pace of technological change.
