Germany's Stuttgart Airport CEO George Fundel, as quoted by dpa, said while passenger numbers "performed well" in the first six months of 2012, the second half will likely be "weaker". The airport handled almost 4.5 million passengers in the six months to Jun-2012, for growth of 4.3% year-on-year, with FY2012 growth expected in the 2.5-3% range. During 1H2012, cargo increased 1.5% to 10.9 million tonnes while aircraft movements decreased 2.5% to 64,841. The airport, which reported a record profit after tax result in 2011, expects profit growth to continue in 2012.
