Skymark to refuse collection of PFC at Tokyo Haneda

Skymark Airlines stated (28-Jan-2011) it would introduce a policy of refusing collection of the raised amount of Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) for domestic passengers at Tokyo Haneda from Apr-2011, stating there is no rational reason for the increased charge. The PFC is currently collected by airlines by inclusion in the air fare. In Dec-2010, Japan Airport Terminal Co Ltd, which operates Haneda terminal, announced plans to raise the PFC by JPY70 (USD 0.86 cents) to JPY170 (USD2.09) for adults by JPY30 (USD 0.37 cents) to JPY80 (USD 0.98 cents) for children (between three and 12) in Apr-2011 to recover increased fixed costs required for extension of the second passenger terminal and remodeling of the first passenger terminal at the airport.
