Singapore Airlines pax numbers up 2% in Jul-2014, 82% load factor

Singapore Airlines reports (15-Aug-2014) the following traffic highlights for Jul-2014:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.6 million, +1.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.7%, +0.9 ppt;
    • East Asia: 75.7%, +0.1 ppt;
    • Americas: 86.2%, -1.2 ppts;
    • Europe: 87.8%, +1.9 ppts;
    • South West Pacific: 84.2%, +2.5 ppts;
    • West Asia and Africa: 70.2%, +1.9 ppts;

Singapore Airlines: "PLF improved across all regions, except for the Americas region, due to higher passenger carriage on account of stronger summer traffic, coupled with Indonesia Lebaran demand shift from August last year to July this year. The operating environment remains challenging. Capacity will be adjusted accordingly to better match market demand and promotional activities shall continue in markets that require additional support," Source: Company statement, 15-Aug-2014.
