Singapore Airlines pax numbers down 1% to 1.6m in Oct-2014, 77% load factor

Singapore Airlines reports (17-Nov-2014) the following traffic highlights for Oct-2014:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.6 million, -1.1% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 77.2%, -1.3 ppts;
    • East Asia: 76.4%, -0.1 ppt;
    • Americas: 77.4%, -4.7 ppts;
    • Europe: 77.7%, -3.5 ppts;
    • South West Pacific: 81.8%, +2.7 ppts;
    • West Asia and Africa: 68.8%, -2.5 ppts;

Singapore Airlines: "PLF declined across all route regions, except for South West Pacific. Traffic grew for Europe and East Asia, albeit at a slower pace than capacity. Demand was weaker for Americas and West Asia and Africa. The operating environment remains challenging.
