SAS Group reports operating loss in 1QFY2013, pax numbers stable

SAS Group revenue up 3.2% - financial highlights for the 3 months ended Jan-2013:

  • Revenue: SEK9597 million (EUR1454 million), +3.2% year-on-year;
  • Operating profit/loss: (SEK581 million) (EUR88 million), compared to a loss of SEK964 million (EUR146 million) in p-c-p;
  • Net profit/loss: (SEK630 million) (EUR95 million), compared to a loss of SEK2541 million EUR385 million in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 6.1 million, +0.2%;
  • Passenger load factor: 67.6%, -0.3 ppt;
  • Capacity (ASKs): +4.8%;

SAS Group: "We continue to anticipate a negative RASK and yield trend, but on the condition that no unexpected external events occur, and jet-fuel prices remain at their current stable level, the SAS Group deems that a positive EBIT margin, exceeding 3%, and a positive EBT is possible to achieve for the full-year 2012/2013."
