Sama hopes to re-enter market; Gulf carriers interested in acquisition

Saudi General Civil Aviation Authority (GACA) reported stated that Sama will not sell its assets and is making attempts to re-enter the market (Gulf News, 25-Aug-2010). Separately, it was reported that Saudi Arabian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air Arabia and a number of other Arab airline companies have expressed interest in acquiring Sama, which this week become the first Arab Gulf airline company to cease operations since the global financial crisis commenced (Okaz, 25-Aug-2010).
